Cayucos Essentials

When traveling to California’s Central Coast we aim to chill out so while most visitors go to popular Morro Bay or Cambria we stay in Cayucos off the beaten path. It’s an unassuming beach town with a few restaurants, locally owned grocery store, a pier and one surf shop. At night you hear nothing unless you rent a place close enough to the shoreline for the sound of waves.

You’ll need to rent a house and every house comes with a B-B-Q. Your options are to contact a local real estate agent or rent direct from the owner. We prefer the latter.  One home that we have stayed at often is a comfortable two bedroom with a rooftop deck only a few minutes walk to the beach. Remodeled with a comfy king size bed in the master bedroom. Check it out here

Other things to do besides photographing birds, the surf and marine life is cycling, wine-tasting, and touring the historic Hearst Castle.
